Completed Collective Collage I & Announcement of Our First Winner!

With my new art assistant, Kumo, in place, I managed to get back in to the studio after my move to Peach Cottage and complete our first Collective Collage!

The attached photos show Kumo and your lovely cards of support and the many images and quotes you have sent in, in addition to the big box of calendars I have received from one participant.

The majority of people supporting this initiative dear to my heart have been family, friends and previous art students of mine.  The response has been overwhelming in a good way and I feel inspired to keep creating new collages with the abundance of materials at hand.

So, it is not too late to join in or tell your friends about the CC project to support and empower women leaving abusive relationships! You can be involved by emailing me for the participation info (artaccess@shaw.ca), sharing this blog on fb or talking to friends about it.

Meanwhile, I am also ready to announce the first winners, yes, you read right, plural, because a group of four sent in their contributions collectively and since I can't tell who would have been the #15 participant, they all win (see below:)

                                          Back in the studio...yeahhhhhhh!:)

Kumo, the art assistant or better supervisor

                                          Your cards and contributions....

                                          Almost there....

                                           Completed Collective Collage :)

What now?--Should we do another one?

And the winners are: Terri, Maddy, Nancy and Beverley!!!! Yeahhhhhh....you each will be mailed an art card of the final collage and will also receive an invitation to the art show next year, once we know it goes ahead! Congratulations and thank you sooooo much to The Winners and all of you who have participated in this project, as far as from Germany, that allows me to do the two things I am most passionate about in life: to create art and to give to others!  ~We are all one~

Blessings,
Susanne

Collective Collage March 3rd:

It is fun receiving snail mail everyday with new contributions of collage items for the Collective Collage: pretty stamps and magazine clippings, special stickers and inspirational quotes like:

"Don't quit when the tide is lowest,
For it's just about to turn;
Don't quit over doubts and questions,
For there's something you may learn."
by Jill Wolf

Keep sending in your treasures and we will make a difference together one collage and person at a time!

Blessings to you all,
Susanne

The Empowerment of Women is on NOW!

This is layer one of the first Collective Collage:  The FUN-d-RAISER for the empowerment of women survivors of abuse is in full swing now, and every 15th participant will receive an art card of a completed collage and an invitation to the upcoming art show!

Send in your images, quotes and poems with empowering messages and for $5 you can buy a 2x2" (30x30 cm) section of a canvas to participate in the creation of numerous powerful collages for women at shelters, who are leaving abusive relationships and starting out new.

Prior to the women receiving the collages, there will be a well publicised art show to raise funds for a local non-profit society that supports women survivors of abuse. The more people participate, the bigger the possibility that it will be a traveling art show.

It is not too late to join in! For more info, please email Susanne at: artaccess@shaw.ca
